I went for a taco and accidentally ordered five. No regrets.

Taqueria Fenix is slinging some serious taco magic out of a humble truck on East 5th. I rolled up hungry and left spiritually fulfilled.

Here’s the lineup:

  • Al Pastor – juicy, sweet, a little crispy on the edges, basically the Beyoncé of the plate.
  • Asada – classic, dependable, like your cousin who always brings good tequila to the party.
  • Gringa Shrimp – I didn’t know what to expect and I’m still thinking about it. Rich, cheesy, and shrimp-tastic.
  • Veggie Taco – proof that vegetables have a place in the taco world, especially when they’re this flavorful.
  • Campechano – the real meat lover’s dream with beef and chorizo? Yes, chef.

Also, let’s talk about the horchata coffee. I took one sip and immediately blacked out from joy. I chugged it so fast I considered going back for a second but restrained myself.

Taqueria Fenix is the kind of spot you almost don’t want to tell people about, except that everyone deserves tacos this good. Perfect for a late lunch, post-night-out recovery, or just an “I deserve this” treat.
